Since March 2013, System7 railsupport has been the exclusive distributor of the OTM Monitor for track machines and rail/road vehicles on the basis of the WaggonTracker from PJ Messtechnik of Graz (Austria). The OTM Monitor generates its own power supply through a rotor and a stator in the axle-box cover. Attaching the OTM Monitor to the axle has been approved and certified by the German Federal Railway Authority (EBA) in Bonn. A buffer battery makes it possible to trans- mit data even when the machine is standing still. Thanks to the SIM card included in it, it can be used in all European countries, since it is able to switch automatically between networks. The OTM Monitor records the location using GPS coordinates and forwards it to a web application. The system is capable of further enhancements to record the condition of the vehicle, the diesel engines, the transmissions and the work units.
Another new development also being presented at the iaf is the “oil manager”, which is able to refill up to two diesel engines with engine oil autonomously and to transmit the consumption and condition data by GSM to the web application mentioned above.
